What components make up a split-body ball valve?This particular valve is a three-piece #forged steel ball valve, consisting of the main valve body and two end caps (left and right). The valve body is forged from A105 carbon steel, while WCB is cast. In terms of density and pressure resistance, forging is generally stronger and more reliable than casting. For flammable and explosive media such as natural gas, choosing a forged valve body is a much safer option. As you can see, the left and right bodies are connected to the main valve body by flanges and bolts. During assembly, sealing components such as sealing rings, graphite gaskets, and O-rings are installed to ensure leak-tightness. The material of the sealing ring is selected based on the actual working conditions. This stainless steel ball is the closure element, also known as the ball or valve core, and it plays a crucial role in controlling the flow of the medium.
